The Children Car Safety Foundation periodically organizes two types of Car Safety Courses:
- Courses for Parents, aimed at introducing the basic concepts of traffic safety for young passengers.
- Courses and practical activities for teenagers who are preparing to obtain a driver’s license or who have recently obtained one, to help them become aware of traffic hazards and avoid causing road accidents.

The infant car seat, commonly referred to as a “scoică” by parents, is the car seat designed for newborns, classified as category 0.
From birth until at least 4 years old (ideally even 5-6-7 years), children should be transported facing backward, as this position is five times safer. The rear-facing position is known as the “rear facing” position.

How we select car seats
Every year, the Children Car Safety team compiles a list of recommended car seat models. The inclusion or exclusion of certain models on this list is based on objective criteria, not personal preferences.
Criteria:
- Safety: Evaluated through an additional crash test—ADAC, Plus, NHTSA, Consumer’s Report, OAMTC, TCS, Which, RACE, Que Choisir, or, in the case of new models, an indication that they will be included in testing within the next 24 months.
- Ergonomics: Ensuring the child’s respiratory position and correct spinal alignment, depending on age.
- Prompt service: Provided by the distributor in case of a quality defect or an accident requiring the replacement of the car seat.
- High-quality textiles: Easy to clean, non-irritating to the child’s skin.
Importance of additional impact tests
It is essential that car seats are not only approved to the i-Size (R129) standard, but also additionally tested by independent organizations such as ADAC, ÖAMTC, Which?, TCS, RACE, NHTSA or Plus Test, as
