In the section called Installation Problems you will discover errors in the installation of child car seats, errors that make the car seat, no matter how good it is, a non-functional or even dangerous device.
Not all car seats fit all types of cars.
An incorrectly installed car seat, or one that is incompatible with the car, will not work properly as a crash protection system and can be dangerous.
Car seats that are considered universal or semi-universal will not fit in every car.
Even if a car seat has passed crash tests and scored well, this does not automatically make it compatible with your car or suitable for your child’s age or weight/height or conformation.
The new R129 standard (for i-Size seats) may not be compatible with your car and should be checked before purchase.
Car seat manufacturers have included compatibility lists for various makes and models of car, but this is not a perfectly accurate list.
These compatibility guides are advisory only and do not guarantee that the car seat will fit perfectly in your car. That’s why an incorrectly installed car seat is a dangerous car seat!
The only way to check the compatibility between the seat and your car is a physical check before purchasing the car seat.
Our specialists can advise you on correct car seat installation if you have 2 or 3 children.
At Child Car Safety Centres, we guarantee to check each car seat in your car before you decide to purchase.
If you have already purchased a car seat, contact us to schedule a car seat check on your car.
