The “Borrow A Car Seat” project of the Child Car Safety Foundation
The Children’s Car Safety Foundation has initiated the “Borrow A Car Seat” project, a practical and affordable solution for parents who need a car seat for their newborn child immediately after birth. The project provides car shells (special infant car seats) for a short period of time, allowing parents to bring their newborn safely home without having to purchase a car seat in advance.
Objectives of the project
The main aim of the project is to ensure the safe transport of newborns from the maternity hospital to their home from the first day of life. In addition, the project gives parents the chance to make sure that the car seat they purchase later is perfectly suited to their child’s needs. This solution is ideal for families who want to make an informed choice adapted to their child’s size and requirements after birth.
How does the project work?
The Foundation offers free car seat loans for a period of 3 days, enough time for parents to bring their newborn safely home and have time to explore the most suitable options for purchasing a permanent car seat. After the loan period, the shell must be returned to the Foundation.
Additional benefits
Those who participate in the Borrow A Car Seat programme receive a 10% discount voucher on the purchase of child car safety products from any SAC (Child Car Safety) centre. This benefit helps parents to make a more affordable investment in the purchase of the ideal car seat for their child, once they have made sure the product is suitable.
Social impact
The “Borrow A Car Seat” project is an initiative that makes a significant difference in the lives of families, ensuring that every child can be transported safely from the very first days of life. Through this solution, the Children’s Car Safety Foundation not only provides practical support, but also educates parents on the importance of the correct use of car safety systems.
