The testing ADAC May 2020 included 26 car seats from all groups and as a premiere the first two models of folding car seats were also evaluated: Mifold Hifold Fit and Fold Booster and Chicco Fold & Go i-Size.
It is noteworthy that most of the seats tested performed well and satisfactorily with a total ADAC score around 2.0-2.4. There were some notable results in the category of so-called “shells”, a category in which models from already established brands such as Maxi-Cosi, Joie and Nuna obtained scores of 1.6-1.7, and a “newcomer”, the Silvercross Dream + Dream model i-Size Base scored an extraordinary 1.5 with a safety score of 1.3.
This spring’s session did not register chairs with major problems, so the lowest mark obtained by a model was 3.7.
In the much sought after category of car seats 0-4 years, the very good results of the rotating models from BeSafe are noteworthy, respectively BeSafe iZi Twist B and BeSafe Izi Twist with marks of 2.3, respectively 2.4 and safety score of 1.5, ie a fantastic note for this age group.
